  "I don't just like dahlias: I love them" asserts Andy Vernon on the opening page of his new book, The Plant Lover's Guide to Dahlias. Even had he not spelt it out so explicitly, readers would have been left in no doubt of his passion for this most exuberant of garden flowers. Andy's tone is chipper. As an author, Susan Wittig Albert works a total of three genres, historical fiction, mystery and memoir. Some of her best performing mystery series include the Darling Dahlias mystery series and the China Bayles Herbal mysteries. Additionally, she also has an eight book series, the Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter that she coauthored with her husband.

The Darling Dahlias series began in with The Darling Dahlias and the Cucumber Tree. The series is currently ongoing.
